I had been wearing Brooks Adrenalin's on trails for a number of years because they are available in the narrow size. As a result I have been reluctant to move to the Caldera, since they do not come in narrow. However, I decided to try out the Calderas. Much to my delight the Caldera's worked out fine for me the roomy toe box is great. My foot does slide side to side a bit but it is not bad enough to cause any hot spots on the bottom of my feet. They lace up tight enough. The length is the same, the only difference is the great traction and a little bit of extra width easily taken up by the lacing tightness.
